Oze National Park

The Backpacker’s Guide for a 2-day 1-night Trek from Tokyo to See a Marsh, a Field of Flowers, a Lake, a Waterfall and a Mountain

This photo guidebook introduces international tourists to Oze National Park 尾瀬国立公園 in Japan. Oze 尾瀬 is a popular and excellent scenic hiking place. It is located in Japan on the border of Gunma 群馬, Fukushima 福島 and Niigata 新潟 Prefectures.

Although there are a lot of trekking trails in the park, this guidebook shows some of the most highly recommended paths with a lot of photos. You can choose hiking paths from them such as marsh areas, a lake, a waterfall and two high mountains.

One of the most popular spots is Ozegahara Marsh 尾瀬ヶ原 that is a high altitude large marsh located about 1400m (4593ft) above sea level and surrounded by mountains. You will see wonderful scenery of the marsh and many kinds of pretty flowers when you go there in June and July.

The hiking trails around the marsh are for beginner hikers, because the trails are well maintained and mainly flat. However, the trails on the high mountains are not for beginner.
This park is also known for a sightseeing resort, and many cozy lodges and three camping sites are available.

If you like beautiful nature and adventurous experience, you shouldn’t miss this park during your trip in Japan!
If you are a backpacker and traveling on a budget, it is a good idea to read this guidebook before going to Oze. You can plan your trip by yourself more reasonable than using a travel agency.

Artistic Souvenir Fridge Magnets

The Collection of Sightseeing Place Magnets in the World with Their Similar Scenery Photos

Do you have any souvenirs from your trip?
I think that many people keep their memories of their trip through photographs.
Why don’t you start collecting “Souvenir Fridge Magnets”?

You can find the magnets that are reduced-size designs of the similar scenery at various sightseeing spots.
This photo book will mainly introduce high quality polyresin 3D fridge magnets that are hand-painted like rustic art objects.
You can also see them with their similar scenery photos.

My favorite type is the magnets that made from polyresin because they are hard and look heavy like ceramic.
On the other hand, there are the magnets that are made from plastic or wood. They are light and fragile.
These polyresin magnets are unique in terms of texture and appearance, more artistic and luxurious.

The number of the magnets
Polyresin type : 32 items
The other types : 15 items

Guidebook
Title: Fly So High! Mt. Kumotori in Tokyo
Subtitle: The Backpacker’s Guide for a 2-day 1-night Trek to See Mt. Fuji and Japanese Forest

Amazon Kindle
This is a guidebook for a two-day, one-night trek to see Mt. Fuji and the forest around Mt. Kumotori (雲取山).

Mt. Kumotori is:

  • Located in Japan on the border of Tokyo (東京), Saitama (埼玉) and Yamanashi (山梨) Prefectures. Google Maps
  • The highest mountain in Tokyo, and its peak is 2017 meters (6617 feet) above sea level.
  • Part of Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park (秩父多摩甲斐国立公園).
  • Was named one of the 100 best mountains in Japan.

There are several trekking trails around the mountain. This guidebook introduces international tourists to one of the most highly recommended paths.
This trail goes thorough a well maintained and beautiful forest which contains a primeval forest, thickets, coniferous forest zone, the mountain’s summit and a panoramic ridge path. If you like trekking in the wilderness, you are guaranteed to have a fun adventure.

This trail is not a sightseeing resort and not recommended for beginner hikers, because the entirety of the path is 21 km long, requires five hours of trekking each day and many of the trails are really steep. You will need sufficient outdoor equipment including trekking shoes, rain jacket / pants, quick dry clothes, food and water.
You should also have confidence in your physical strength. However, these trails are well maintained and relatively safe, except in the winter and early spring (end November – early May). You shouldn’t try to go to the mountain for a one-day trek.

We know that a lot of people want to go to the peak of Mt. Fuji from the 5th station, but it is only open for about two months during the summer, and is a mostly rugged area. If you would rather walk in a forest, I would recommend climbing Mt. Kumotori instead of Mt. Fuji.

A recommended lodge and most of the trail signs unfortunately do not have English information. That’s why this guidebook is focused on giving you useful information with many pictures.

— Table of Contents —
1: Access to the bottom of the mountain
2: Map
3: Mitsumine Visitor Center
4: Mitsumine Shrine
5: Trekking Day 1
6: Kumotori-sanso Lodge and Mt. Kumotori

Tokyo Eating Tour 2Guidebook
Tokyo Eating Tour (Volume2) : The Backpacker’s Guide to Reasonable Standing Bars in Japan

This guidebook introduces international tourists to Japan’s unknown standing bars / food shops. An unforgettable eating experience can be the highlight of any trip. Although Japan is a famously expensive country, this guidebook will introduce you to very reasonable price foods and alcoholic beverages in unique places.

Standing bars / food shops are much more reasonable than typical seating style places. The reason is that customers don’t want to keep standing and staying for long periods of time, and they often come and out, so that the shops can reap profits, and offer food / drinks at competitive prices.

Usually these types of shops are compact and their rooms are cramped. So, you shouldn’t go there with a large group. The shops this guidebook covers are nice for one to three persons.

The recommended shops unfortunately often do not have English speaking staff or English menu or websites. That’s why this guidebook is focused on giving you useful information.

Usually, the tourists repeatedly go to the downtown area of Tokyo (東京), because it is really famous for nice sightseeing and shopping places. So, this guidebook will show you some recommended places in the downtown area. It is easy for you to get to these places by train / subway.

This guidebook doesn’t cover any luxury or expensive restaurants. If you are a backpacker and traveling on a budget, it would be a good idea to read this guidebook before going to downtown Tokyo. You can choose from ten highly recommended places.

Joyful Minowa Shopping StreetGuidebook
Discover Unknown Tokyo – Joyful Minowa Shopping Street : The Backpacker’s Guide to Unknown Sightseeing Spots in Japan

This guidebook introduces a nostalgic street Joyful Minowa shopping Street (ジョイフル三の輪商店街) in Tokyo, Japan.
I know that international tourists usually go to really famous shopping and sightseeing places. The places often look gorgeous and fashionable, but it is only a part of Japanese life. Joyful Minowa shopping street is not as same as those places at all, but it is at these good unknown spots that you can learn about daily shopping of local people and grasp the situation of Japanese ordinary suburbs.

In recent years, the street is not so busy, but not quiet. The street view is getting a bit old and some shops have a retro atmosphere, but almost all of their commodities and services are usually as good as the other shopping areas. A good point of this street is that you can take your time and be relaxed to communicate with the shop staff and local people.

In Tokyo, there are many shopping streets here and there. I selected the street to introduce from them. Characteristically, it is about 400m distance, arcade and mostly goes straight. This type of street is kind of rare in Tokyo now. That’s why, it is easy for you to walk around, and you don’t worry about the weather.

You can stop by the street on your trip when you go to popular sightseeing areas such as Ueno (上野), Asakusa (浅草) and Akihabara (秋葉原) in Tokyo.

The street is located beside the Toei Streetcar (Toden 都電) Arakawa Line (荒川線). This metropolitan streetcar is the last historical streetcar in Tokyo. Watching the scenery slowly from the streetcar is a good idea to enjoy sightseeing.
If you are looking for a good unknown spot in Tokyo, walking around the street makes you joyful.
